The Discovery Process Explained
After completing the Brand Audit (which gives our team a strong understanding of the client and project goals) we then collect more data during the discovery process.
The discovery process is a technical analysis of data including market research, analytics, user personas, and other information to determine best design and marketing practices for the project. We may gather further data and insights from sources such as:
– Focus groups
– Website analytics
– Social media insights
– Market research
– User personas
– Customer lists
– Data from newsletters
This will allow us to determine how to bridge any gaps in marketing strategy as well as ensure that the deliverables are impactful.
The discovery process is fundamental to best design practices for branding and marketing success.
Once we have compiled enough information in the discovery process, we may go even further to run the project through tests and checks to enhance user experience.
For example, we may ask questions like:
– Does the current brand color pass accessibility tests and a contrast checker?
– Is it accessible for a colorblind person?
– Are the fonts web-safe and easy to read?
– What complementary and secondary colors are being used?
– What feeling or emotion are we trying to achieve?
