Organization Background

Artists Frame Service, founded in 1978 by Jay Goltz, in what was then an abandoned factory district, has set a high standard in the professional framing industry. Goltz embarked on a mission to enhance the framing experience with more artistic design, a broader selection of options, and quicker service. His efforts paid off, and the company rapidly expanded to become the largest custom frame shop in the United States.

A pivotal moment in the company’s growth occurred in the early 1990s when Jay Goltz began forging relationships with manufacturers in Italy and Spain. These connections allowed Artists Frame Service access to products that were previously unavailable in the American market. Today, many of the frames offered by the company are exclusive, adding a unique value proposition for their customers. The craftspeople at the company’s 30,000-square-foot facility are dedicated to quality and empowered to halt production if any frame fails to meet their high standards.

Artists Frame Service is a part of The Goltz Group, a parent company that encompasses a carefully selected collection of four design-focused businesses. This group shares a common vision of helping customers create inspired spaces for living and working. The Goltz Group includes other notable entities such as Jayson Home, Chicago Art Source, and Bella Moulding. This network of businesses underlines the commitment to quality, design, and customer service that has been a hallmark of Artists Frame Service since its inception.
