Organization Background
Founded in 1984, SEAMAAC has become a pillar in the Greater Philadelphia area, providing essential education, health, and social services to a diverse array of communities. As a well-established and respected nonprofit organization, SEAMAAC’s mission revolves around uplifting immigrant and refugee families, along with other ethnic, cultural, and racial groups who face systemic barriers. The organization’s services are comprehensive, addressing the needs of individuals across all age groups and life stages, from children to elderly community members.
SEAMAAC’s inclusive approach is particularly notable, as it creates a welcoming environment for families and individuals from all walks of life. The organization places a special emphasis on supporting immigrants who have recently arrived in the United States, helping them navigate the complexities of their new surroundings. Over the years, SEAMAAC has evolved to broaden its scope beyond solely serving refugee populations. Today, it also supports other marginalized groups, including African Americans and working-class communities. This evolution reflects SEAMAAC’s responsiveness to the changing demographics and needs of the Greater Philadelphia area, ensuring that it remains relevant and impactful.
SEAMAAC’s programs are designed not only to meet immediate needs but also to foster long-term empowerment and self-sufficiency. This holistic approach includes educational programs, health initiatives, and social services that are culturally and linguistically accessible. By providing a continuum of care and support, SEAMAAC plays a crucial role in helping individuals and families achieve stability and thrive in their new communities.
About The Project
In an effort to better communicate its impact and successes, SEAMAAC partnered with Creative Repute to design a comprehensive impact report. This collaboration began with a thorough discovery process, where the team from Creative Repute delved into SEAMAAC’s existing online presence and past materials. This initial analysis was critical in understanding the organization’s brand identity and the narrative they wished to convey. Following this, a creative brief was developed to outline the project goals, ensuring clarity and direction for the design work.
A key deliverable of this project was the creation of a detailed style guide. This guide included specifications for color palettes, typography, design principles, photo selection guidelines, and accessibility considerations. While the primary focus of the style guide was the impact report, it was also crafted to be a versatile tool for other marketing materials such as newsletters, flyers, and social media graphics. This ensures consistent and cohesive branding across all of SEAMAAC’s communications, reinforcing its identity and mission.
The culmination of this project was a 20-page, visually compelling impact report. The report was designed to serve as a powerful storytelling tool that showcases SEAMAAC’s value and achievements. This impactful presentation is intended to support SEAMAAC’s fundraising efforts, helping the organization secure the resources needed to continue and expand its vital work. In addition to the digital version, Creative Repute coordinated with local print shops to provide SEAMAAC with a range of options for printing the report, ensuring the final product met both quality and budgetary requirements.
Throughout the project, regular meetings and check-ins between Creative Repute and SEAMAAC were integral to maintaining alignment and ensuring the project evolved in response to feedback. This collaborative approach fostered a dynamic working relationship, allowing for real-time adjustments and enhancements to the report as new insights emerged.
Our Approach
Creative Repute employed a comprehensive approach to ensure the project’s success, utilizing a blend of direct stakeholder engagement, analysis, and project management tools. Initial conversations with SEAMAAC stakeholders provided valuable insights into the organization’s mission and goals. A review of past branding and marketing materials helped establish a baseline for the new design work, while a SWOT analysis identified key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
To enhance our understanding of SEAMAAC’s public perception and reach, we analyzed website and social media analytics. This data-driven approach informed our design and content strategies, ensuring that the impact report would resonate with both existing supporters and potential new audiences. We also employed accessibility testing tools to ensure that all materials were inclusive and accessible to a diverse audience, reflecting SEAMAAC’s values of inclusivity and equity.
Project management was streamlined using Notion, which served as a central hub for organizing all project-related information. This platform facilitated seamless coordination, allowing team members to access notes, deadlines, documents, and files efficiently. A client-shared Google Drive folder further enhanced collaboration, enabling SEAMAAC to review deliverables and provide feedback promptly. This transparent communication channel was crucial in maintaining project momentum and clarity.
Regular design team check-ins and an extensive internal review process ensured that each deliverable met our high standards of quality and creativity. Detailed meeting summaries and recordings were shared with both internal and client teams, capturing key decisions and action items. Weekly progress reports kept everyone informed of the project’s status, allowing for timely interventions and strategy adjustments as needed.
The Outcome
The result of this collaborative effort was a highly polished and visually striking impact report that not only highlighted SEAMAAC’s achievements but also served as a testament to its ongoing commitment to serving marginalized communities. This report now stands as a key resource in SEAMAAC’s toolkit, effectively communicating its impact and fostering continued support from donors and partners. The process and final deliverables underscore the power of strategic design and thoughtful storytelling in advancing nonprofit missions.
