Creative Repute partnered with Blue Robin, a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and creative entrepreneur, on a website refresh for his personal brand and online store. Blue Robin’s work spans original artwork, exhibitions, fragrance, and community-centered creative experiences. His website needed to reflect that range while making it easier for visitors to understand his work, shop available products, explore his story, and get in touch.
The project was completed through Creative Repute’s Daily Retainer model, a flexible creative retainer built around steady progress, focused priorities, and clear updates every other business day. For Blue Robin, that meant applying the model to his website: one priority at a time, steady implementation, and room to adjust as new questions or opportunities came up.
The first milestone was immediate: strengthen the site ahead of an upcoming art show. The broader goal was to help the website feel more focused, intentional, alive, and easy to navigate.

Starting with the Audit and the Client’s Priorities
Creative Repute began with a website audit covering design, user experience, mobile responsiveness, content flow, and e-commerce functionality. The audit helped identify technical and visual opportunities, but it was not treated as a one-way prescription. The team also asked Blue Robin what he wanted the website to do for his audience.
That conversation shaped the work. Blue Robin explained that the store needed to lead. Paintings, prints, Calypso’s Oracle Deck, AzulRa, and future releases were available or planned, but before Creative Repute’s involvement, visitors would land on the site without naturally finding what was for sale. He also wanted clearer paths for people who were ready to buy, book him, attend a show, or join the list. The homepage needed to work as both a storefront and a first impression, especially on mobile.
Creative Repute used those priorities to focus the engagement around the highest-impact visitor pathways: the homepage, shop, product flow, contact page, Story page, art page, footer navigation, and key calls to action.
Making the Store Easier to Find
One of the most important improvements was bringing the shop experience forward. The previous homepage had strong visuals, but the calls to action were not always easy to follow, and the shop was not exposed clearly enough. WooCommerce and Square were both part of the existing e-commerce setup, so Creative Repute reviewed how products were being displayed and improved the public-facing path to purchase.
The refreshed homepage now guides visitors more directly toward available work. The hero section includes clear calls to action to shop the work and explore the gallery. Current projects, original artwork, AzulRa, and Calypso’s Oracle Deck are easier to find. The navigation was also refined so “Shop Now” became a clearer destination without removing the personal-brand storytelling that makes Blue Robin’s site distinct.
Creative Repute also added a Featured Product section, so Blue Robin could highlight one product at a time from the homepage.
Custom WordPress Plugin Development

A major technical piece of the project was the custom Blue Robin Site plugin. Instead of placing every update inside the theme or relying only on page-builder layouts, Creative Repute built site-specific functionality that could keep working independently of the active theme.
The plugin added a custom, dashboard-managed Current Projects content type, shortcodes for displaying homepage project cards and a featured WooCommerce product, WooCommerce-specific styling, shared brand variables, bundled brand assets, and an admin overview page.
This made the site easier to maintain. Blue Robin could update the homepage featured projects and featured product content from the WordPress dashboard without editing Beaver Builder layouts or touching code. Creative Repute also provided a short tutorial so the client could understand how those editable areas worked.
For artists and personal brands, this kind of maintainability matters. The goal was not only to improve the site for one event. It was to make key areas of the website easier to update as Blue Robin’s work, products, and projects continue to evolve.
Working Within the Existing Website System
Blue Robin’s website was built on WordPress and Beaver Builder, but the existing legacy Beaver Builder license did not include Beaver Themer, which would have allowed deeper control over global templates such as headers, footers, shop pages, product pages, and blog layouts.
Creative Repute reviewed the limitation, explained the available options, and kept the work moving within the tools already available. Rather than forcing a rebuild or requiring an immediate licensing change, the team used Beaver Builder, WooCommerce settings, custom CSS, and plugin development to make practical improvements within the existing system.
That approach was especially useful for the e-commerce pages. The WooCommerce templates were limited by the available tooling, but they could still be made more cohesive. Creative Repute used brand colors, scoped styling, layout refinements, button treatments, hover and focus states, and responsive adjustments so the shop, product, cart, and checkout pages felt more connected to the rest of the Blue Robin brand.
That is where experience makes a difference: knowing when to recommend an upgrade, when to work within a constraint, and how to make the current system better without overcomplicating the project.
Visitor Pathways and Responsive Improvements
The refresh improved the way visitors move through the site. The homepage was reorganized around common actions: shop the work, explore current projects, learn about a featured release, enter the 3D gallery, read testimonials, and connect with Blue Robin.
Creative Repute also redesigned the contact page so visitors could more easily choose the right inquiry path, whether they were asking about artwork, commissions, events, exhibitions, collaborations, or general questions. Testimonials were added to the homepage to strengthen social proof and help visitors understand Blue Robin’s credibility as an artist and creative professional.
Responsive design was considered throughout the refresh. As pages and sections were updated, Creative Repute checked how the experience translated across screen sizes so the site would feel clear and usable for visitors browsing from a phone, tablet, or desktop. The refresh also improved everyday usability through clearer buttons, more readable content groupings, and cleaner pathways through the site.
Outcome
Behind the scenes, the custom WordPress plugin gave Blue Robin a more manageable way to update key homepage content as new products, projects, and releases emerge. The result was not a full rebuild, but a thoughtful website refresh that helped the existing site better support the way Blue Robin works and the way his audience explores. For Creative Repute, the project also demonstrated what the Daily Retainer model can make possible: consistent creative momentum, technical problem-solving, transparent communication, and meaningful website progress without requiring a full rebuild from day one.
